Family Involvement

Tuba City Boarding School considers family involvement as a cornerstone of student success. We believe parents and guardians are equal partners in their children’s education and play a vital role in fostering academic achievement. Through two-way communication, collaborative teamwork and community engagement, we build meaningful connections between families and our school.
Programs and Initiatives
Our school offers a variety of programs, activities and initiatives to strengthen partnerships with families and create opportunities for involvement throughout the year.
Parent and Guardian Involvement Policy
Tuba City Boarding School works collaboratively with parents and guardians to ensure that every student receives the best possible education. Research shows that children perform better when parents and guardians are actively engaged in their education. As full partners, parents and guardians contribute by serving as:
- Teachers: Supporting their children’s learning at home.
- Supporters: Sharing their skills with the school.
- Advocates: Ensuring their children receive fair treatment and support.
- Decision-makers: Participating in collaborative problem-solving with the school.
Our Parent and Guardian Involvement Policy emphasizes strong family-school connections, incorporates strategies to enhance involvement, and offers opportunities for parents and guardians to contribute meaningfully to their children’s education.
Parent Advisory Committee
The Parent Advisory Committee includes parents, guardians and school personnel working together to create the School Plan for Parent and Guardian Involvement. The PAC meets monthly on the first Wednesday to plan, review and improve policies, activities and programs that promote family engagement.
The PAC also ensures families have a voice in decision-making with opportunities to offer feedback on the school’s improvement plan and other initiatives. Language interpretation services are available upon request to ensure accessibility for all families.
