At Tuba City Boarding School, we provide a wide range of activities to enrich students’ experiences and develop their skills, interests and leadership abilities. These opportunities are open to both day and residential students and are designed to foster teamwork, creativity and cultural pride.

Athletics and Recreation

  • Sports Program: Students participate in basketball, volleyball and other sports through after-school programs and clubs like the Drills for Skills Basketball Club.
  • Recreational Activities: Organized games, hiking and nature walks promote physical fitness, teamwork and a connection to nature.

Cultural Activities

  • Traditional Navajo Cooking and Gardening: Hands-on activities that connect students with cultural practices and sustainable living.
  • Storytelling and Art Projects: Students celebrate Navajo legends and history through creative expression.
  • Seasonal Events: Activities like the Navajo Shoe Game enhance cultural pride and awareness.

Clubs and Leadership

  • Student Council (STUCCO): Students develop leadership skills by planning events and representing their peers.
  • Gifted and Talented Program: Enrichment opportunities tailored for academically gifted students to explore advanced learning activities.

Field Trips and Special Events

Students explore local and regional sites through educational field trips and special outings to foster curiosity, cultural awareness and community engagement.

Afterschool Programs

Our after-school programs offer academic support and engaging activities in a safe environment, helping students explore their interests while building valuable skills.
