At Tuba City Boarding School, we offer a range of services to ensure that all students — both day and residential — receive the support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Counseling Services

Our counselors provide individual and group sessions to address personal, social, and academic challenges. Parents are encouraged to collaborate with counselors to support their child’s well-being and growth.

Academic Support Programs

  • Homework Help and Tutoring: Available to all students after school with certified tutors for additional assistance.
  • Summer Programs: Students can participate in enrichment classes during the summer to enhance their learning experience.
  • Residential Academic Support: Residential students benefit from structured study hours and tutoring sessions in the evenings.

Supplemental and Enrichment Programs

  • Gifted and Talented (GT) Program: Enrichment activities designed for advanced learners.
  • 21st-Century Learning initiatives: Includes access to technology and research tools to foster modern learning skills.
  • Special Education Support: Programs include Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, Section 504 plans, and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act compliance to address special learning and behavioral needs.

Behavioral and Social-Emotional Support

  • Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Program: A tiered approach to teaching and reinforcing positive behavior.
  • Social-Emotional Learning Curriculum: Weekly lessons focus on managing emotions, empathy, and decision-making skills.
  • Bullying Prevention: School counselors provide lessons to help students recognize, report, and respond effectively to bullying.

Health and Wellness Initiatives

We promote student wellness through nutrition education, physical activity, and health screenings. Programs emphasize developing healthy habits to prevent chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease.

Community Referrals

When additional support is required, students may be referred to external resources for mental health, substance abuse or other specialized service. We ensure all referrals are handled confidentially and with care to support the needs of each student.
